Painting accepted to Juried Art Show

"Dancing Light on Lake Wheeler" - Adam Breakey 2010 -  Acrylic on 18x18 on gallery wrapped canvas - Available at the JLR show in Raleigh in late October

This is the painting that was selected.  ”Dancing Light on Lake Wheeler” — It is acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas 18”x18”.  The painting continues around the edges, giving it a nice finished look without the need for a frame.  This is the ‘big brother’ to my series of waterscapes - 6 in all - which are all 12”x12”.

Great News!

I received some great news.  One of my paintings was selected to be a part of a juried show here in Raleigh during late October.  I am very excited.  It is great to have a piece selected to be viewed by so many people - it is expected that 12,000 people will visit the show during the week it is open.  

I’ll post a picture of the painting in my next update.

“Spring near Pilot Mountain, NC” - Adam Breakey 2010 - Acrylic on 24x36 gallery wrapped canvas - $300

This is a painting I just recently finished.  I have always loved the look of Pilot Mountain so I felt that it should be in this painting.  However, I didn’t want to do the obvious and paint it by itself.  I felt that having it in the background of the painting, with a small farm as the subject would add a little interest, yet still give the feeling of that area of North Carolina.

This is another waterscape painted after my visit to Lake Wheeler, NC.  I enjoyed playing with bright colors against dark.  This series was a lot of fun to paint.  Look for more of these to be available for sale soon.

It’s done. I have submitted four pieces of art to an upcomming art show here in Raleigh. Hopefully one is chosen. We find out next week. - Adam
